TRAVEL TIPS. BACKPACKERS GUIDE.

Currency: The Mexican currency is MEXICAN PESO.  The approximate exchange rate is of 1 USD = 13 MXN.  The most secure payment tip is to pay with credit card or debit.

Security: It is recommended to carry only the necessary money to cover the expenses of the day, leaving the remainder in the card or in the security locker inside the hostel.  Its better try not to travel alone.

Electricity: In Mexico the electric current is of 110 V and 60 Hz.  The contacts are the same that are utilized in the US.  It is recommended to carry adaptors that you can bought in commerce of the cities.

Taxis: By security tries to take the taxis of established places and verify that the driver have his permission in sight with date and photography.  Verifying also that the cabdriver have turned on the taximeter in the beginning of the journey, for the purpose of not pay more than you owed.

Visa and passports: Any tourist that visits Mexico should carry an identification whether visa, license or passport in force, you should know that in various establishments is requirement to be able to enter.

Weather: One of the better weathers in Mexico, counts with warm and tropical temperature most of the year, rainy from June to September and cold mornings in Winter (November – February)
